London fashion museum chooses VCSTIMELESS point of sale solutions
LONDON FASHION MUSEUM IS OPEN FOR BUSINESS WITH VCSTIMELESS AND IBM.
The new £10 million Fashion
and Textile Museum, founded by UK fashion designer
Zandra Rhodes, opened its doors for the first time
on 12th May, using point of sale software from VCSTIMELESS and hardware from IBM to power its retail
operations.
The
Fashion and Textile Museum will be the first of
its kind to showcase the talent of local and
international fashion and textile designers. Located
in London, one of the fashion capitals of the world,
the museum represents the lifelong dream of its
founder, Zandra Rhodes. Showcasing the best of
vintage and modern fashion and textile design,
rotating exhibitions will include work by Vivienne
Westwood, Jean Muir and Ozzie Clark.
The museum
has chosen to run their Point of Sale solutions using VCSTIMELESS’ software
solutions and
IBM’s stylish and easy to use SurePOS
500 touch screen terminals to provide all the point
of sale functionality for the museum’s
shop as well as admission tickets. VCSTIMELESS partner
Hopewiser will be providing the postcode finder
facility. The system will be fully Chip
& PIN compliant,
to adhere to the credit card fraud regulations
due to be implemented in 2005.
“ When
we heard about the opening Fashion
Museum we immediately wanted to get involved
with Zandra’s venture, as we are so closely
involved in this sector. VCSTIMELESS has been providing
software solutions for the retail sector
for over twenty years, and our core business centres
around
fashion retailers. The point of sale solution we
have provided the museum, enables them to not only
manage their tills, but also to link into customer
relationship management facilities, merchandise
management and links back through the
supply chain,”.
