Oracle Corporation,
the world’s
largest enterprise software company, today announced
that VCSTIMELESS, a member of the
Oracle PartnerNetwork, and a leading European specialist
in retail software solutions and professional services for the non-food distribution
and specialty retail sectors, has migrated its Colombus
suite of industry solutions to Oracle9i
Database.
The
migration is essential part of the VCSTIMELESS drive
for international expansion: its 5-year goal
is no less than to become the leading European
supplier of IT solutions for the non-food distribution
and specialty retail markets. It was logical for
VCSTIMELESS to turn to Oracle. “Partnership
with Oracle will allow us quickly to raise our
sights to work with larger customers than we could
otherwise target, because Oracle9i Database is
predominant among these companies,” said
Michel Ramis, Chief Executive Officer of the VCSTIMELESS
Group.
Colombus can now fulfil the key demand of
the market for Oracle’s open standards-based
technology, which bring the performance and flexibility
which are imperative to an information system.
The Colombus suite’s modular construction
is designed to meet the needs of local and international
retailers operating single or multiple channels
and distribution, including stores, branches, e-commerce,
mail order, franchising and concessions. Colombus
was first made available on Oracle in April 2003.
“ The power and performance of Colombus,
allied with Oracle9i Database, represent an ultra-competitive
solution which will quickly prove itself as the
definitive solution for European non-food distribution
organisations,” continued Michel Ramis. Evidence
in support of this prediction comes in the shape
of deals signed by VCSTIMELESS – after the
migration to Oracle – with three prestigious
customers, one of which was Club Med.
